Split into eight manageable modules, SEO: The Fundamentals teaches you how SEO can push your website up the search engine rankings, achieve measurable benefits for your business and gain a genuine edge over your competitors.
With a maximum of eight people per day, you'll have plenty of opportunity to interact with each other and with the course presenter. We'll deal with some technical points in some of the modules, but we'll never baffle you with geek-speak.

Morning session
1. What's in it for you?
Understanding SEO and its role at the heart of your marketing strategy is the first step to unlocking its business benefits. In this module, we look at the importance of SEO and how to budget effectively for this long-term investment in the future of your company.
2. Search engines: the nuts and bolts
There's no big mystery when it comes to SEO. You don't need a PhD to make it work for you - just a good grasp of how the search engines work, what they do with your website and what makes them rank your website above those of your competitors.
3. Getting your strategy straight
No army goes to war without a decent plan of attack, and that's exactly what you need when you start to optimise your website for search engines. In this module, we help you hammer out a coherent strategy that will guarantee you achieve your goals.
4. Keywords are king
Think you know how your customers search for your products or services? Think again. We examine how your customers really search for your product or services, and show you the right way to carry out keyword research, the tools to use and how to collate the data.

5. Making the search engines love your site
After lunch, we explore how search engines read and understand your website and how you can make it even easier for them. Don't worry - you don't need to be a web designer to understand this module.
6. Create content that converts
Now that you've learned how keywords work, we'll show you how to put them into practice. You'll learn the key principals of on-page optimisation and the techniques that can help your website convert visitors into customers.
7. Building back links: how to do it, and why it matters
In the morning session, we looked at the importance of getting other websites to link back to yours. Now we drill down to the heart of this key topic, as well as learning about the dark side of search engine optimisation and how to avoid it.
8. How to track your SEO success
By now, you'll have a good grip of SEO. But how will you know it's working for you? Our final module teaches you how to use Google Analytics to measure the success of your SEO strategy.
